hello. i have a Dell PowerEdge 6600
quad 1.9 Ghz CPU
4GB memory
i have W2K server on there. running terminal services and
citrix metaframe

i orginally had 3Gb of RAM installed, and then i added
another 1GB.
after this, my BIOS is recognizing the total 4GB of RAM
but when i go into windows, and check the system
properties, it only recognizes 3,669,488KB

i have the BIOS, and ESM firmware up to date for teh
server, and i also have service pack4, as well as all
microsoft updates installed.
also, its not advanced server. just regular server

what am i missing?
please help
thanks.

I think I remember a known bug with that. What does task manager say you have? I think your memory is being recognized just fine but properties displayes it incorrectly.

In that case I would pester dell. I've been digging around for you and the only issue I'm finding is with adv. and datacenter where memory is above 6 or 8 gigs. Plus some thing about helpcenter incorrectly reporting but it doesn't seem to apply. There is a specific function call that reads memory that's being used by properties and a different one used by task manager. If both are having the problem, definately pester Dell.
