Just put a spare HD in my desktop and installed the latest, which for me is 10074. In 7 and 8.1 my Synology showed up as Diskstation in the left pane of the Network dialog box. In 10 it's not.

In my wife's desktop (8.1), my laptop (8.1) and in the HD disconnected on my desktop (7), it all showed up.

I have a private network setup in 10, All the other PC's on the network show up, I was able to map a network drive to the Synology and I can access files on it.

What am I missing? It was handy to have it in that left pane.

Some research turns up that this problem cropped up with the 10074 build. I didn't see how I could have overlooked something anyway, because I never had to do anything special in 7 or 8 to get the functionality I was missing in 10. So, wait for the next build or final release. No biggie.

Settings > Update & security > Windows Update > Advanced options

At the bottom of the page, "Choose how preview builds are installed", change the setting to "Fast". The new build will show as an update and it takes a while to install.

Yeah, thanks I had found it. I'm getting an error message right now when I run a scan for updates but there was something there about it might take 24 hours for the changes to sync up.

I'm never sure about wording because I installed 10 on my desktop on a spare drive and I'm typically on my laptop.

Build 10122 fixed it. Now maybe I'll spend more time actually using it instead of poking around looking.
