nay, what is nuts is that they arrived...early

prepare to explain to them how to install a driver for the cable modem (might come up)

- that being said, I've had nothing but good experiences with rr in columbus.

i got in on a 6-month promo for $29.95/month :) free modem and installation, no rental fees. I was pretty happy with that. 5mbit downstream (i actually get that too), 384kbit upstream.

actually I just moved to Cary, NC last week I should update my profile. South Jersey just has Comcast and various DSL, north jersey got optimumonline which was the best of all 3 so far.. 10mbit down/ 1mbit up.. comcast was about 6~8mbit down, 384 kbit up

yeh, that's what it is here to start with and then bam - it's $45/mo
but it's like a drug, after you've had it you'll pay anything to keep it.

only issue i have with RR is they only offer 2 plans, the 5/384 and teh 8/512 which costs like 30$ more

i want faster speeds for less moneys :(

other then that my service here has been flawless

$54 here for 30/5 from Cablevision. :)

Actually, Cablevision recently uncapped boost users so its uncapped/5mbit bandwidth. I can usually sustain ~3500k/s from newsgroups and I serve on irc ~560k/s or so up. :)

I don't care if you straddle an OC-48... few sites will let you have unthrottled access - thus we're all going to get the data at about the same rate.

FWIW, here's another nod to TimeWarner in Columbus, OH. Those boys have their act together... most trouble free connection I've ever had.
