Come get some :D

Model - Old Price - New Price - % Diff
Opteron 1xx (Dual Core)
Opteron 180 (2,4 GHz) 799 799 --
Opteron 175 (2,2 GHz) 530 475 -10
Opteron 170 (2,0 GHz) 475 367 -23
Opteron 165 (1,8 GHz) 417 278 -33
Opteron 1xx (Single Core)
Opteron 152 (2,6 GHz) 799 799 --
Opteron 150 (2,4 GHz) 367 321 -13
Opteron 148 (2,2 GHz) 263 213 -19
Opteron 146 (2,0 GHz) 183 125 -32
Opteron 144 (1,8 GHz) 125 111 -11

$278 is not too bad for 2x1MB / 1800MHz if this baby overclocks well...

This should make sure the 165 goes OOS everywhere its fairly priced, and the 170 a more attractive option.

OK, this is from the first of the month. Now that the 165 are sold out and the 170 are selling well, those prices will go way up. Supply and demand. I wouldn't be surprised to see them return to the previous price.

You prolly won't. I've been looking for 146 for a few days, and the few places that have them are getting $200 for them. They were a good deal at 150, at 200 I'm no longer interested.

AMD probably wont change pricing on their end but retailers might get a bit greedy. Still, the holidays are coming up so sales will still be around. I'd be more worried about supply of the 165 than the price right now. You could just opt for a 3800 X2 instead of the 165. I doubt either chip would dissapoint.

That price is AMD's "MSRP" of sorts...you will not find them at that price, unless you buy a batch of 1000 directly from AMD. :D
