w00t! Lost weight already!

Danman

Lifer
Last Monday, I told myself this is enough. I'm a fatty bo batty. So I threw out all of my junk food, went to Super Target and started my new diet. At first, I didn't feel so good but after a couple days I was fine. I've been working out every day for about 30 to 40 minutes. I also am eating fruit and salads! :Q I jumped on the scale and I lost three pounds already. Lower weight here I come! 😀

Oh, this is what I've been eating:

Morning: Grapes, Strawberries, and 1 Apple
Lunch: Ceasar Salad w/ Croutons or 6 inch Tuna sub with low fat mayo on Wheat with all of the veggies (no cheese)
Afternoon: 1 Orange
Dinner: Salad or grilled chicken breast or tuna salad

I've been hitting the weights every night and I have been trying to run every night or every other night. I worked out in the past so I was only warming up the muscles the past week. I increased my reps today and I feel much better, a bigger challenge each day. 3lbs isn't a lot, but it is a start. Had to share it with everyone! 🙂

Are you eating enough? Just make sure you keep at 1300 cals, minimum. That doesn't sound like much food. 😛

Congrats, I've recently decided to trim up a bit and I just got done getting off my exercise bike. I'm gonna start eating a lot better too, my died has consisted of fast food and refined sugars and it's starting to show.

Yea, I'm still trying out other foods. I bought some low fat yogurt and other fruits this weekend. I really don't know what else I can eat that's healthy, any suggestions?

subway?

drink lots of water, i lost a whole lot of weight last year myself , (55 pounds :Q )

lots of salads, fruits, well i am vegetarian, so taht helps too

Sounds good... with one main problem.

With that diet, you will be consuming 1400 calories MAX. You need a lot more than that or else you will do the diet/binge cycle. You can keep that diet up for a few days, but then you will get enormous cravings and will binge on junk food like it's going outta style.

You need to eat a lot more.

Try this:
Morning: Grapes, Strawberries, and 1 Apple + Oatmeal or Cereal with Skim Milk
Brunch: Something else small... like a meal bar or something.
Lunch: Ceasar Salad w/ Croutons or 6 inch Tuna sub with low fat mayo on Wheat with all of the veggies (no cheese)Add more meat.
Afternoon: 1 Orange Add Chicken breast sandwich or can of tuna
Dinner: Salad or grilled chicken breast or tuna saladDecent enough

You need to eat every 2-3 hours...

Thanks for the advice. I just need to bring more fruit to work so I can eat those during the day. It's kind of hard to get up, prepare a can of tuna on the job. 😛 Oh, and I also got some oatmeal this weekend. Gonna start eating that tommorow.

If your running and working out that is not enough food. ( i know it's already been said)

The worst thing you can do on a diet is eat too little because sooner or later the cravings will be too much and you will eat everything in site.

I tried the Atkins wraps at Subway. The chicken bacon ranch one is very good, but... it's really small (about 3/5 the size of a 6 inch sub), it doesn't fill you up at all, and its too damn expensive at 4.49. I much prefer the low carb thickburger at Hardees. My whole like I always thought of Hardees as Ghetto, and a really lousy place. Now, I really like it! go figure.

Thanks for the advice. I just got to find more stuff to eat during school and work.

There is no Hardees here in Orlando. NO WHERE. I cannot find one place within 20 miles, I am dead serious. 🙁 Back at home, there was a Hardees about 10 minutes away from home. God that place rocked. 😀

For those trying to gain weight as opposed to losing it... I had that problem for 22 years. Start drinking dark beer. You'll do it soon enough.

I'm not fat by any means, but since I don't lift weights currently, I was getting a bit of a beer belly. It turns out it was a pop belly. I quit drinking pop, and it's going away. That's a good starter diet.. just eliminate a few things at first. I decided to choose between pop and beer, and just couldn't say no to my Shiner Bock.
