ok, so i goes to AMD TT2k. They give directions from map quest.

"Take the SR-536 E exit- exit number 26AB- towards EPCOT/DOWNTOWN DISNEY/ANIMAL KINGDOM."

So i'm driving down the interstate, exit 25, 26 A, 26 B, 67. Wait a minute. 67? WTF. Then a tiny sign "OLD 26AB". So i'm like ok, cant be that bad.

"Keep RIGHT at the fork in the ramp." Ok, so i goes right, everything seems ok.

"Turn LEFT onto E BUENA VISTA DR." Lets see, right lane must turn right, so I go in the left lane. "NO LEFT TURN"

Ok, thats great, go down the road, make a U turn, hang a right. Now i'm going down the road, la la la la. Except Disney (Did you know it seems like theres a damn state highway through 99% disney owned property), in their INFINITE wisdom decided to put ALL the street names, on signposts at the corners of the sidewalks. Great. So when its pouring, instead of looking up at the stop light and finding out what road youre on, you have to guess. After guessing incorrectly again, I go down Resort drive. I get lost. I ask for the AMD convention at 1500 epcot drive. Thats at the dolphin resort. I go to dolphin. They tell me to go to the swan resort. I go to swan resort. They tell me to go back to dolphin. I go back to dolphin, and i find out that AMD is at swan. So that happens.

So now i'm at swan. Guess what? No parking. So I try and parallel between a tercel and a suburban, no go. Just too damn tiny. So I pull into reserved parking. Theres a sign. Now disney, in their INFINITE childrens world, amazingly manages to be childish on parking signs.

VERBATIM: "Unauthorized parking may result in your vehicle MAGICALLY DISAPPEARING..."

Great. So I manage to find a spot, and in the pouring rain, I get to registration.

Add after all that, it was so cool......they had free food and those 10 oz coke bottles. they talked about hammer and how theres going to be no front side bus and how its gonna be integrated and stuff (i think, my brain is fried from the hourlong drive back here from 192). They were giving out 2000+ cpu's and mobos.

Some guy: "Whens the Athlon 2200 coming out?"
AMD: "SOON!"

Picked up my free t-shirt. went back to the registration guys

me: "Hey can I get another shirt"
AMD: "Sure, here you go"
me: "Cool. I've wanted a whole weeks wardrobe of nerdwear. This takes me one step closer."
AMD: "That is the single most pathetic thing i have ever heard in my life."
me: "No kidding?"
AMD: "Nope. Which is the exact reason why I'm giving you another one"
me: "If we werent in public, i'd hug you"

besides the free food and drink, met a lot of cool people. AMD ROCKS!!!!!!!

LOL, if that was "the single most pathetic thing i have ever heard in my life" for that guy, it's obvious
he isn't a member here ? Did you tell him to come register ?

Yeah, this was a great time. My goodie bag is crammed with cool stuff; lighted AMD yoyo, Bell Micro frisbee, many cool pens, a stress ball, some plastic toy that you can bend in all sorts of weird shapes, VIA lapel pin, T-shirts, lined fancy AMD notebook, CD's like on building servers, etc.... :)

And the food was fantastic! This must have cost a bunch to put on by AMD...very professional.

I went to the Boston one, and it was extremely fun! If you missed it this time around, they're bound to have one in the fall--This is my second (the first time I won the motherboard I'm currently using:D)
