I feel so special! 5% cash back on supermarkets, drugstores, and GAS! Being a student, my credit's been mediocre lately, but this should help (provided I use it responsibly)!

congrats..just don't overspend will ya 🙂

I'm approaching the $300 cap on cashback...has anyone reached this number yet? Do they actually enforce it?

I had a Citi card since 1998 and never used it....until last year when it expired and they sent me a Dividend Platinum card to replace it. Now MBNA wonders why I never use their card 🙂

I think there's another card with 3% on gas, but no limit. check Rossman's sig.

I am a freshman in college. I have never had a fulltime job (just some summer jobs) , don't have one now, full-time college student. The only thing credit wise I had was my name attached to my parent's credit card, and they had perfect credit. It must have worked, because I got approved for the Citi Dividends Platinum. Then, a few days later, while opening a checking account, the guy informed me I had a 755 credit rating, all at 18 years old 🙂.

I have not reached the $300 limit yet, at about $175 for this year.

The card you're thinking of is the Chase Perfect Card which sucks compared to the new Chase Cash Plus Rewards Visa:
  • 5% cash back on purchases at supermarkets, drugstores and gas stations
  • 1% cash back on all other purchases
  • 0% APR on both purchases and balance transfers for up to 12 months
  • Redeem cash back for checks or gift certificates
  • Newest cash back card from Chases - replaces the Ultimate Awards card
  • No annual fee

I was surprised, my credit score's about 670 now, and I'm trying to lift it, so I'm consolidating my 3-4 cards into 1-2 with balance transfers. This card sounds awesome, and my amex blue's pretty cool too. Both have APR's around 12% after the promotional period.

I got approved for the same card yesterday (Ross, I used the link thru your site for application). I went thru the application, it said I was approved, and I signed up for the accessories like web access, virtual accounts, etc.

It basically said I'd receive the card in a week or two, and I could go ahead and use for online purchases if I wanted (I declined). The next step said I'd be taken to a 3rd party site to continue, but the link didn't do anything.

Do I need to anything now since that link didn't work, or just not worry about it and wait?

I called their application status people and they said everything was in order and I should receive my card in about 2 weeks.

Ahh, I'll probably give that a try this afternoon. Thanks!

Congrats...Chase sent me some weird "Prestige" member offer. At first I blew it off, but after I read the benefits, it might be worth it to me after all.

Would you mind sharing the details of that offer?
