Congrats, Minendo.

And pffft to the rest of you - I paid $25,000 for a six bedroom house out in the boonies. Supply and demand > *.

And my little shack would sell for 600K plus. (I ain't sellin').

Man, what is with the people around here? I won't be dreaming of anything but renting for years and other people my age are owning property. Gah.

owning a house is a big step, i agree. But i suppose if you have a stable job paying well, you can get a house and live in it comfortably. I'm on my way with my credit score by renting, but I doubt I'll be owning for a couple more years

The house

pic gone. updated pics please?
Will have to take pics when I am down there on Tuesday for the home inspection.

Nice. So is that a cape cod, or a ranch?

You have the wife, now the house. All you need is the dog, 2.5 kids and you have the American dream. Then you can save up for the inevitable midlife crisis car.
😉

Ha. Already have the dog. 😛 As for the kids, f that.

grr, wish wisconsin was like the, s.e. wisconsin sucks, houses that cost that much are found in the ghetto, and very run down. and property taxes, UGHH, a house like urs would probalby grab in the 2xx,00 here, plus another 5 grand a year in taxes,
plus some of the highest gas prices in the country, plus the most expensive health care, plus moderatly high sales tax, plus high income tax

crap i'm moving outta here soon

Congrats, welcome to the world of homeownership. You now have mortgage payments, property taxes, leaky roofs, pest infestations, etc., etc .....

No really, it is the best thing you can do to own a home and upgrade as the years go by. It has always proven to be a solid investment if you view it in the long term.
