Can anyone recommend a good starter amp?

Get a Roland Cube. They're the best bang for your buck at under $100. I have one and it rocks!

That what I have. It is a really great little amp. You should also check on ebay. You can get some starter amps for really good prices there.

I plan on getting the amp locally - I try to stay away from Ebay.

It was donated to the bar by Guitar Center, so I will probably go there.

Thanks for the input though - I like the features (The ones I can somewaht understand) that are on that unit.

And local pawn shops. Pawn shops tend to be gold mines for used, well-working guitars and amps.

I will have to check the pawnshops..

Neither Guitar Center (The palce that donated the guitar) nor Sam Ash locally have any Roland Cube 15's in stock. 🙁

So many people at my school get guitars to be cool, act like they know how to play them but suck in reality. I am tired of the guitar fad around here...

If you are gonna learn how to play guitar, then you better learn well! 😛 Play some good music for meh!

Yep, that is where my Yamaha SL400 (Les Paul copy) wound up when I decided that I had more time to shoot than to play and traded it on my Colt Government Model .380. [How's that for a segue to your handgun recommendation thread 49erinnc ?😉]
