Hey, I'm working on a budget here. :)

3MP, runs on AA batteries, has 2 PC Card type-2 slots, and accepts almost all Nikon lenses.

Pure picture quality isn't quite as good as the D50 or D70, but color balance is slightly better, as is noise. Plus, the Kodak software is vastly superior to Nikon's and Kodak has a RAW format that you can actually work with fairly easily.

Lower noise comes from the fact that the digital sensor in these older cameras is huge compared with modern sensors.

Can't wait to get it. And yes, Nikon mount was important to me since I've got several Nikon lenses including a 70-300 zoom - with the magnification of this body (1.9x), that 300 will become 570mm...!

i wouldent be so happy about a 6 year old camera with 3 ISO settings that is almost 2x as big as any DSLR made today

After seeing Kodak's newest consumer cameras, I can't take them seriously. :(

It's better than what I've got.

EDIT: It's actually a very good camera. Size aside, it's still better than most consumer cameras. Notice I did not say prosumer or professional.

It's physically larger than that in the DCS315, which also has the same pixel size. The net is that effective lens focal lengths are multiplied by 1.9x relative to a 35mm frame, a considerable improvement over the DCS315's factor of 2.6x. (For a review of the earlier DCS315, visit John Cowley's Lone Star Digital site.)

seeing as modern day CCDs have a 1.5x crop factor that woudl mean that the 330s chip is even smaller, not larger

Your logic is impeccable, but I know I've read that somewhere. I'll have to google it (tomorrow).
