w00t! Got a great deal on cable TV/Internet!

I called Comcast today because I wanted to cancel my service. I was planning on switching to SBC, where I could get local phone service, satellite TV (w/four receivers) and DSL (1.5 down/768 up) for about $100/mo. I wanted to cancel, but more importantly, I wanted to see what Comcast would offer me.

I was paying $90.91 for basic (non-digital) cable + Comcast HSI (4.0 down/368 up). The guy at Comcast offered me digital cable (with OnDemand) and Comcast HSI for $74/mo., and that price is good for a year!

It's not a huge savings, but it's worth it. Plus, SBC charges a $50 install fee for local phone (don't have a landline at the moment), so that would be a hassle. Additionally, I won't have to deal with switching any services right now, which is a big plus.

How much are you paying for broadband + TV?

Hrm. $25.76/mo for internet (5 down, 768 up), expanded basic cable, digital cable, all tiers, HBO, Cinemax, Showtime/The Movie Channel, Starz and unlimited Entertainment on Demand.

Permanently.

Not bad if I may say so myself. 😀

How? I'm jealous. 😉

We need to call Adelphia and ask them for a nice rate..

Comcast got our area in Adelphia's bid, so we'll see how that goes.

Oh, I forgot to add that's including 1 HD box and 1 HD/DVR box. 😀

again, how?

I pay 1/3 of 80 bucks a month. If it was up to me I would just get rid of cable tv and get a wireless reciever to pickup a stray signal from one of the other apartments.

you should drop the cable service, becuase it sounds like you don't get out much. I assume that's becuase you're too busy watching cable

paying 29.95 for comcast h.s internet, but the offer is good til August, about $40-50 for cable TV with HDTV, I will call comcast in August to cancel the internet and switch to DSL if they can't give me anymore deal.

How'd you get comcast highspeed seperately for $29.99?

its a special that they have going. we have had it for a while though. anytime our "deal period" is up, we call threatening to cancel and they keep the price that much.

Hmmm. I've got Bellsouth 1.5mbps DSL at $42.95. I've got a huge hate-on for Comcast but it doesn't look like Bellsouth is going to upgrade their customers on IFITL anytime soon.
