Let's explore that reasoning. I guess the election of more catholic and baptist politicians means republicans have forgotten about the ongoing culture of child rape within organized religion?


I'd say this is more behavior culture warring conservatives need to address - this penchant to fuck chickens and act proud about it. Islam and Jews have been enemies since the religions were founded. The hate from islam towards jews, and nonbelievers, is rooted deep. There are numerous videos on youtube of Islamic children being taught to hate jews.

People need to realize something, from the time muslim children are old enough to read and write, they are taught to hate jews.

Apologist will cherry pick various verses of the quran and take them out of context. Some of the quran talks about how important life is, and apologist will use those verses, while leaving out what the quran teaches about jews and nonbelievers.

Have Omar denounce what the quran and what it teaches about jews. Its that simple.

As a Christian I denounce what the old testament says about women and womens rights. Christ completed the old testament and brought forth a new testament, a testament filled with love. The statements against gays were a corruption of what what Christ taught, which is to love your neighbor. There was no exception for gays in Christ's teachings.

The quran does not even allow muslims to take nonbelievers as friends - Quran 3:28

Also, you clearly haven't read your New Testament in a while.

Jesus also made clear that he saw marriage as something between men and women, while 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy are notorious for commanding women to be silent in church and defer to men.

So, basically, you have to cut out important chunks of both Testaments for the Bible to be in any way consistent with what you claim about women and homosexuality.

To treat Omar like she's a ticking time bomb simply because she's Muslim is no different than assuming a Christian politician is a sexist and a homophobe. You know there's a variety of views among members of a given faith, and they don't always need to explicitly tell you that they're interested in openness and peace.

Hold on, here. You're saying that the apostle Paul, the man who forms one of the cornerstones of the New Testament, didn't really count because he was just spouting off "relics of Jewish influence?" Which books of the New Testament do you think are actually valid, then?

I'm not religious anymore, but I'm pretty sure you don't get to claim to be devout while simultaneously rejecting more than half of your sacred text (never mind that the books included in the Christian Bible were chosen by a committee).

There's also a tremendous irony to claiming that you believe in 'loving one another' while simultaneously attempting to demonize all Muslims. This doesn't mean you have to accept all Muslims, certainly not for the practices you mention above, but love means acknowledging the existence of moderates and liberals you can get along with, not labeling the entire faith with a hateful brush. And you do not love, you hate.

To rub salt in the "wound," that committee was, I believe, assembled/run/coordinated by the Catholic Church with a Pope overseeing the process. So, essentially, what is celebrated with the New Testament was a Catholic creation...causes evangelicals to explode both figuratively and literally when presented with that. Then the denials start, naturally.
