w key not working with other keys

So recently, I've discovered that my keyboard no longer allows w to work at the same time as other keys. this isnt problematic if i'm typing or something but it is annoying in games because it means i cant go diagonally since w+a or w+d doesnt work. i have a microsoft comfort curve 2000 keyboard. I havent always had this problem and i dont know what brought it on. any suggestions?

edit: i'm not sure if there are other keys that dont work simultaneously since i only noticed w because of shooters.

I guess you did say you "only noticed w because of shooters." After reading that, I went back and re-read to make sure I wasn't being dense.

Oh well. Keyboards are cheap. Not sure what else to tell you.
 
heh, i'm not quite sure how you saw this as a kind of political analogy but...

problem solved!!! i just took apart my keyboard, cleaned it with some alcohol and tada, it works. sorry about the post, i thought it was computer related since the w key still worked, it just didnt work in combination with other keys.

Beer would probably be a bad idea, but anything 160 proof or higher should work! 😉
