Loaded only the parts of 98SE that I use. When the system boots, just before Windows, I recieve the message:

"Cannot find device file for Windows application.
Registry refers to it but it does not exist.
Try uninstalling associated application.
vnetsup.vxd
vredir.vxd
dfs.vxd "
I press any key to continue, go into Windows and receive this Error window: "Unable to load the dynamic library. Cannot find msnp32.dll.
Some or all of Microsoft Network not available."

I close this and Windows operates fine. How do I get rid of the error messages?

Those VXD are virtual device drivers. Go into Network under Control Panel, remove all the network protocols. Then reboot, and install the protocols again.

Seems like those VXDs are either corrupt or missing. Removing all the protocols and replacing them will fix the problem. Make sure that you have your Win98 CDROM handy.
