Hey me just got my Viewsonic VX922 Monitor and need some clarification, as I am completely new to LCD:

1] Inspite of playing with different settings of Contrast and Brightness, I still find the screen ?Dark? as compared to my old CRT! ? Are you all having similar dark screens ( As compared to CRT?s ) ? Everything, including desktop appears to be slight dark/blackish and especially the black scenes in the games are damn too black to my taste !!

2] The colors are appearing to be extremely bright and deep and now when I play the same games which I used to play on my CRT till yesterday, the colors look very much different !! -- Is this a problem OR Normal ?

3] I don?t know if thts silly to ask but if you guys open ?Task Manager? drag it quickly from one end of the screen to the another, do you find the task manager window to be completely Blurred ? OR is it a problem with my LCD ? Also, when I ?scroll? through the middle mouse button, any, Word document or an Webpage from Top-to-Bottom the text gets completely blurred and unreadable ? is this normal ?

4] And finally, I would like to know if is theres any way to know that the screen i have got is Refurbished in any way? ( I have purchased a brand new one from the viewsonic dealer, but asking this for my knowledge if theres any way to find the same )

Responses will be greatly appreciated.

#1, fix your settings, my screen (vx924 looks just fine) acutally i find it too bright sometimes on whites.

#2,3, fix your computer, the screen has nothing to do with blurriness or color.

#4 i have no idea what your saying, if the monitor was packaged in its box, and you purchased and payed for it as brand new, i dont see why it would be refurb. IF you mean manufacturer refurb, who cares, they have same warranties as brand new, and have been serviced by viewsonic technicians.

I don't own the VX9xx but I can offer you some help:

1. Try turning your gamma up.
2. See above.
3. Motion blur is inherent to LCDs but you shouldn't see *that* much that it's 'completely blurred'?
