VX7000 and my new data cable, installed, but how do I use it

I got the data cable for my LG VX7000, plugged it in, and put the driver CD in. Windows XP Pro found the new hardware and installed 4 devices from it, then said my new hardware was ready to use, but my phone doesn't show up in my computer... so I'm unsure how to access my phone. Do I access from the computer, or maybe from my phone?? Any ideas?
