Looks good. Lets hope VW gets their act together with quality issues and it doesn't fall apart the moment you drive off the lot.

EDIT: If they keep it within 2500lbs like they say, and assuming the Forced Induction version makes around 200hp, looks pretty good.

I wonder how it will do. The Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Next gen Mazda Miata will prove to be pretty stiff competition for "entry-priced roadster". Then again, this is a VW and will likely be the most expensive and least reliable out of the ones I listed. I guess we'll have to wait.

Regardless, the car looks good.

Yowza. I wonder what the specs will be on that puppy.

I doubt it'll be some uber-power monster. They want to price it at the Miata's level, I doubt they will, so I expect it to go for around or a little less than $30k.

The supercharger is likely to give the low end grunt, and later on, the turbocharger kicks in for high-end power. This would help create a nice, broad, and smooth powerband. Thats how I expect the system to work.

Interesting little car. I've always had something of a facination with roadsters, really curious to see how this one will turn out.

Strange to see so many new ones out; most Americans label these things "chick cars" and they tend not do so well. Never you mind how many women drive Corvettes, Camaros, and convertible Mustangs as opposed to S2000s, Miatas, and Z4s...

Well, I'll give this an afternoon bump.

I agree. I've only seen probally 2-3 women drive a Miata since I've owned one (several months), none in an S2000 or Z4. Most Z4 owners are older men, close to the 40s. Most S2000 owners I've seen are Men between 20-30. Miatas on the other hand, they seem pretty diverse, with drivers from all different age groups.

On the other hand, I see plenty of women of all ages driving Mustangs and Camaros on a regular basis.
