Entire pathetic lineup? Feeling ok?

Name a good car on the VW lineup. If you're thinking of the new overpriced Golf don't bother.

EDIT: I guess the tourgeg is ok. The rest is slow/overpriced/boring/old.

😕 Passat. Done. Why the hate for VW? Sure the Bug/Jetta suck, but they are made in Mexico. I like the golf, but now they are going to be manufactured in Mexico too. The Touareg is also a decent vehicle.

Naming a car in their lineup doesn't mean that you named a good one. VWs sales have been in the slump for a good reason.

You asked, and I named a good one. They have been in a slump because of the bug/jetta/golf.

I have a Jetta and absolutley love it. The girls all think its sexy, I get "nice car!" from passing bystanders, it handles and feels great, gets good gas mileage, and I've never had any problems with it... what exactly is the reason they "suck" so bad again?

Phaeton<Maybach.

Don't let it fool you though, the Phaeton is INSANELY fast. Top Gear reviewed one with no limiter, and Jeremy could barely hear the engine...doing 205mph.

But I want that Maybach...good lord I want it.

No way the phaeton hits 205 mph. That zone is religated to much higher horsepower exotic sports cars.

I think the ones with no limiter get to the ~180 range, but not certain.

Even that would kind of surprise me, considering it's got only 420 horsepower and weighs about five hundred tons 🙂

Apparently 178 is the max.

Volkswagen also claims it can touch 178mph if electronic limiter is disabled (you can really do that in dealers)

That's what Jeremy Clarkson said in his review. Video

*edit* 201 mph, not 205. meh.

i'd have to disagree there. everytime i see a 20th anniversary GTI, i cant help but drool. the jetta is kinda boring, i agree, but they made some subtle changes for the 2004 model and it looks a tad better.

i cant seem to get all that excited about the other cars in the GTI's class (RSX Type-S, Civic Si, SVT Focus). they were nice when they came out, but lost their appeal. GTI still looks damn good albeit having a much older body

this car is just sweet (minus the sticker across the windshield)

I think he's on crack. I simply don't believe it. Excelsior's number sounds more digestible 🙂

It's decent, but slow. They look good for an old body.

I remember hearing about it a year ago and they said it was suppose to be an "affordable luxary car by VW". LOL?

will be posting pics of my GTI soon. geting new wheels and painting the front and rear valences to match the body color. should be a nice DIY. would like to get a R32 bumper and some better side skirts....but dont have that much $$$ 🙁
