VSR / DSR, for Intel iGPUs?

VirtualLarry

Just wondering if we're going to see this technology on Intel too? It seems that they are behind AMD and NV in providing this sort of tech. Interestingly,it was implemented in some of their drivers already, as one of my 7" cheap tablets, has a 1024x600 physical screen, but a 1280x800 res in Windows.

So why doesn't Intel implement this in their mainline drivers?

I think it's inevitable that Intel will eventually implement VSR/DSR, but it might not be for a while. The graphical gains from it aren't that huge, so I'd imagine they're going to focus on increasing the IGPU's basic graphical capabilities first.

Well, some of us use it for desktop usage (increasing available virtual resolution at the desktop), rather than gaming. (Which is already lackluster on an iGPU, no need to boost the res. up higher, to make it worse.)

You think it's realistic to expect such largesse from Intel? When was the last time Intel gave us something without asking i.e. until someone lit a fire underneath their hide, cheapo (Intel) tablets were a reality because ARM had them beat. They'll do this at their own leisure, no sooner I'd say.
