vsop is minimum 4 years, xo is minimum 6 years.
The very top of the line cognac is supposedly Remy Martin Louis XIII at a whopping 1300 to 1800 a bottle. but if you wanna drink the drink that Winston Churchill had when celebrating the allied victory at WWII, then go right ahead.
For more plebian consumption, I've heard Martell brand cognac also recommended. Aside from remy martin, hennesy, Martell, you also have Courvoisier of Busta Rhyme fame.
happy drinking.

if you are going to start drinking cognac though, make sure that you first know how to serve it.
Like, its a big waste if you are going to pour it over ice or something.

To the OP, if you are going to start drinking cognac though, make sure that you first know how to serve it. It should be served warm (either by using a brandy snifter on top of a low flame or if you want you can try to warm it by your hands)
