VSmon

Can anyone tell me how I can get vsmon back on my system.

I was having trouble with vsmon using up my memory in Zone Alarm and whilst trying to fix this I seem to have deleted it from the system.

Many Thanks.

Have done this exactly as required on the ZA site but no joy. The file is to do with true vectoring and seems to be part of windows. I do not want to re-install windows yet again.

Many thanks.

I have security suite also with latest version from the ZA site. I have followed ZA instructions to the letter but sadly no joy.

There is a well known problem of ZA accumulating memory and eventually causing the system to slow so much it is unusable. It is vsmon that does this. It seems Vsmon which is to do with true vectoring is part of windows and I do not want to re-install yet again.

Many thanks.

VSMON.EXE has a spare file located in C:\Program Files\ZoneLabs\ZoneAlarm\Repair.

The operating copy is in C:\Windows\System32\ZoneLabs.

If the repair one is still there - just copy it to the operating folder under Windows.

It is a small file - only 73.9 KB. It should also be located on your ZoneLab install CD or download file.

And if necessary, just uninstall ZA, and reboot. Then reinmstal it. It will not impact on your Windows installation.

Probably because you did not do a complete uninstall. Sounds like it is trying to do a repair. A fresh install has that file within its folder or CD. Are you installing from a CD or from a download? In either case, you should do a complete uninstall of ZA and then scrub manually the folder where it resided for good measure.

Then, reboot, and install ZA from scratch.

Did you check where I suggested to see if a copy of VSMON.EXE is there?

Thanks all,

After removing all of ZA from registry, rebooting and trying new install it worked fine.

Thanks again.
