Hi guys, how do you think, Virtual Reality is a future of gaming? Or it is just a business project of big companies?
The Vive? The best VR experience today but HTC is in bad shape and might not survive as long as Facebook-backed Oculus. Buying one is pretty much like buying the Betamax of VR.
oh and your shopping example, it will be just like shopping, except you won't own anything when you're done. that sounds like one of the dumbest possible uses for VR.
Shopping will be huge for VR and AR. As it is my wife hates shopping for clothes online because she can't tell how something might fit from a flat picture. VR changes that. Imagine looking at something on Amazon like it's real instead of the collection of pictures and then you buy it right there in VR via Prime. With AR you can see how a couch will look before you buy it or if a rug matches the room.
It will be a big deal eventually.
i don't see how VR is what would be holding this idea back. this could have been done long ago and just viewed on a computer screen or phone. VR really doesn't add anything to it other than a neat/wow factor.
"visiting" anywhere in VR is nothing more than "woah that is neat". you're insane if you think visiting the carribean through a VR headset is going to satisfy someone who wants to go there.
