VPN to ISP question

Can an ISP see what you're computer is doing through a VPN? Or does the VPN hide your computer only after your ISP? Is there any way to shadow your computer from your ISP (other than turning it off). Thanks!

P.S. To the one who helped me on my network before - thank you, turning off the WEP worked!! I looked for the old post to reply, but it's been so long, it's gone into the archives I think. But thank you!

A VPN should shield your computer from your ISP. The communication should be fairly private between the 2 nodes creating the VPN tunnel. Although an ISP generally doesn't need to know what you are doing, this is a very suspiciouos question.

Thank you! One of my friends wants to know. I am not going to ask him. But it's likely to share files. I don't support it, but he didn't ask me to. He just asked me if I know if VPNs made it so the ISP can't see what's going on. I am guilty of it once, too - so it's not my place to judge him. Thank you again. --Michael
