Hello.

I would like to know if there is a VPN program that uses the 192.168.*.* type IPs or anywhere in the FC1918 range:

10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255, 172.16.0.0 to 172.31.255.255, 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255.

Preferably freeware.

Also, is this even possible?

Thankyou.

your post is very confusing. What do you mean?

A vpn is made by two IP addresses connecting to each other, doesn't matter if they are 1918 addresses or not.

Hmm. Sorry for the confusion.

I'll try to explain it better. I use Hamachi, and it uses an ip structure of 5.*.*.*. I need a program that does the same thing as Hamachi but uses IPs in the structure of 192.168.*.*

Or is it possible to somehow bind my Hamachi IP to a 192.168 IP?

Hope this helps, thankyou.

no, that is a private IP, and is not publicly routable. you must use public IP's to VPN (i.e. Nat out of 192.168.X.X to your ISP's public IP, to your work's VPN server on a public IP, into a 192.168.X.X, although that may not work depending on setup of both sides)

Ahhh, I see.

A 5. address most likely from a uni.

You'll get no help here on circumventing security. Good luck though!

Hamachi really does use 5.XXX.XXX.XXX

Can't figure out what he is trying to do though:confused:

If you're using hamachi, you are trying to get around security.

There is no other reason why you would use it.

What are you guys talking about? Avoiding security.

I'm testing out a program with a friend of mine however the connection between the two systems is only supported by FC1918 IP addresses and therefore we cannot use this program with hamachi.

It's easier than trying to teach a sister or a mom how to do find the IP and do port forwarding over the phone. It does have its uses.
