VPN shared drive problem, need help

MSNY

Senior member
I have setup a connection to my work via a VPN home connection.
Up until about 2 weeks ago everything worked just fine and I could map to any network drive. I connect via cablemodem. (it's worked fine for 2 months prior until now)

Recently, I can still connect and login but now I cannot map to any shared drives. Everytime I try, a message comes up that it cannot find the drive. I have checked the event viewer and there are no messages. I have also removed the VPN connection and started over, same problem. NetBIOS over TCP/IP is checked, and I know this is required for sharing. Also checked the MS knowledgebase and din't find amything helpfull. I can ping the VPN IP address and it returns fine after I connect.

I'm confused as to what may have changed. I've spoken to our network admin at work and he says nothing has changed there. Also other people are not having any troubles either, so I'm suspecting the problem is in my system. My work network is Windows 2000.

Using Windows XP Home, SP1 with all updates applied.

Any ideas or suggestions ?
