I have looked into the possibility of setting my desktop as a VPN server and using my laptop to VPN to my desktop over the internet as needed.
I have VPN roughly set up but I keep getting an error when I try to VPN to my own system. It says error 733: could not agree on PPP control protocols.
I googled this and could not find a reasonable solution. I am using a Netgear WGR614.
Both systems are on WinXP Pro using a DSL line with a dynamic IP using dyndns.org to resolve to an .ath.cx name.
I have tried the "checkbox" for multi-link connections, but nothing happened.
A side note - my system is right now in the DMZ - what ports should I forward to make VPN work? There was also talk about a protocol that I needed to enable as well.
