I'm running SoftEther on my home computer and after some basic configuration (Server 2012 R2, ports forwarded to server), everything works. I am able to use my computer as an L2TP server.
I tried replicating this exact setup on AWS (also Server 2012 R2). In the security group settings, I allowed the same ports as I had at home (1701, 4500, 500). I tried disabling the firewall as well.
However, every time I try to connect to the VPN, I get the following error: "A connection could not be established to the PPP Server."
Two Questions:
Am I correct in assuming that this is due to AWS somehow blocking my connections?
How do I remove such blockage?
