vpn into a vpn?

ok... this is a weird setup... i need to access a server on one of my pcs in an office that is behind a firewall.... i can only access the office through a vpn..

however, once im in that vpn, i can only see my ip by the ip, not through the neighborhood....

i have a server that the clients connect to by scanning the workgroup for the server, and since im vpn'ing in, my pc at home isn't in the workgroup, even though the workgroups are named the same....

anyway, i tried setting up a vpn on the pc at the office, to try to vpn into the building, then vpn into the office, but it didnt work

is there anyway to get on that workgroup when on vpn?

As long as there isn't multiple routes to and from souce and destination it and there are no rules in place to block certain traffic. It shouldn't matter doing a vpn into a vpn into a vpn. Now granted.. the caveat is that most likley there will be routing issues along with security blocks along they way.

Your best bet is to call the administrator of your company to have them work with you on the routing to see if the packets will make it back to you or not. We aren't going to be much help since we don't know your network and routing can be differnt for every case.

Unless you can provide a diagram of your entire setup from source to destination its only gonna be a guessing game.
