VPN behind Cablemode and Router- ???

Hi, here's my setup....

COM21 cable modem supplied by comcast.
SMC Barricade 7004AWBR router with latest drives
WIN XP VPN client on my laptop, XP VPN server on my box hooked up to the router (others not attached yet).
Client has the routers address in the general tab, and obtain IP address and DNS server address automatically

Scenario: Dial-up access from laptop, trying to get to the home network

I have given the laptop the IP of my router (the one visible to the internet). Then I call the dial-up service (Juno - hey, 10 hours a month free, I don't have dial-up because of my cable modem access). COMCAST says they do not block port 1723, so no problem here.

When I attemp to logon, I monitor the login logs with the Barricade software. I can see the logon attempt, and it says that someone is indeed trying ot log into the port, but it is unrecognized.

In the Barriade software I have nothing ass9gned in the virtual serve IP address (don't know which to assig to port 1723). I gave DHCP activated, but also MAC Address control activated.

Can anyone give me an idea where to go next?

Thanks much!

Dwane
