Hello,

Oldie but Goodie... I have VP6 w/2XPIII/933 @ 133MHz. I have been using three sticks of 256MB Kingston ValueRAM for a long time now. I bought 2X256MB PNY PC133 SDRAM, and tried them in the VP6. The board POSTed, but froze in the beginning of WinXP boot (about 1/10 of the way through the white character-mode progress bar). The documentation I could find claimed the RAM should work in the VIA Apollo Pro 133A - based board. Does anyone else have experience with this combination? Could it be I was too aggresive in the CL setting etc? The Kingston works at the fastest setting even though it is sold as PC100 CL3!

Thanks,

J

One is Infineon:) the other has stylized S on the chips - Samsung?

I never tried just one stick, only both together. The memory count was correct (==512MB).
