VOX MN1 write only network storage

I have Maxtor and Vox network storage boxes on the network, don't pay much attention to them, and haven't needed to before, but tonight neither one was working. We had some nasty power dips a week or so ago, so maybe that took them offline. Maxtor powered on and works fine, Vox MN1 still had the power LED on, but says no drive found, or detected, something like that.

I can bring up a web interface using //storage bdbf and that is the status showing no drive. Reboot, reset to factory, no change. Powered off, and back on a few times, no change, but I can hear and feel the drive spin up and seek. Date and time were reset to 2006 a couple times after it was corrected through network time server, but no other symptoms noticed.

Any idea if the drive might be a "normal" format so I could test it in a PC etc?

I would like to recover the data, but I'm not sure anything irreplaceable is even on it, so no heroic measures.

Thanks
