But.. But.. It was the fraud.

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/n...s/early-voting-curbs-called-power-play/nTFDy/

A new Florida law that contributed to long voter lines and caused some to abandon voting altogether was intentionally designed by Florida GOP staff and consultants to inhibit Democratic voters, former GOP officials and current GOP consultants have told The Palm Beach Post.
Republican leaders said in proposing the law that it was meant to save money and fight voter fraud. But a former GOP chairman and former Gov. Charlie Crist, both of whom have been ousted from the party, now say that fraud concerns were advanced only as subterfuge for the law’s main purpose: GOP victory.

Both Crist and Greer are Democrats now, you can see why.

TALLAHASSEE — Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist complained to state law-enforcement authorities about possible witness tampering by a lawyer representing the former head of the Republican Party of Florida.

Former GOP boss Jim Greer goes to trial in late July on charges he steered party money to a shell company he created. He has pleaded not guilty and his trial will come shortly before the Republican National Convention is held in Tampa.

Documents released late Friday show Crist called the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in May after learning of exchanges between Greer's lawyer and John Morgan. Morgan is the head of a prominent Orlando-based law firm that hired Crist after he left office and he had been representing Crist.

The documents include summaries of questioning by FDLE of Morgan and Crist, as well as emails between Morgan and Greer's attorney, Damon Chase.

Morgan told FDLE that Chase said he planned to take testimony from Crist in preparation for the trial and ask embarrassing questions about Crist's personal life and habits.

Crist called some of the items that Chase planned to ask him about as "delusional."

"None of these things are true," Crist said Saturday.

All Republicans involved on Florida voting should be fired. After the 2000 debacle people still have to wait in line 8 hours??? WTF!

We desperately need national voting standards.

Heh I have to laugh a little. These same people who couldnt stand in line a little longer to excercise their right to influence policy in this nation most likely stood in line for days for a black friday deal at walmart. Idiocracy here we come!

Why even post? Do you just think sounding like an idiot is attractive?

1.) People did stand in line to vote for 4+ hours or a "little longer" in your view. One of the reasons Obama won.

2.) The fact that you think it is ok for "some" people to stand in line upward of 6 hours, while others vote in under 15 lends all the the background needed to you and your post.

Why even post? To opine about the idiocracy we are building within this country. Here are a group of people who will happily spend hours or days waiting to save 20 bucks on a DVD player, but cant be bothered to do the same to influence policy.

I am in no way saying having them stand in line for that long is the right way about doing it. I am simply pointing out the absurdity of the electorate's priorities.

Unless you can prove that the same people who would not stand in line to vote also did stand in line for BF deals, your opining is exactly worthless.

Come on guys, we all know that waiting HOURS in line to vote is bad for our Democracy, its obvious. States with super long voting lines need to do something about it. Doesn't really seem like a hard problem to fix if you ask me.

Generally speaking that's what it takes around here too Shawn, some States seem to either be completely incompetent at organizing it or want it to take super long for some reason. Honestly I don't remember long voting lines in recent history except in 2008 & 2012.

Thank god. It's more than a little scary to think that people who can't run something as simple as voting are in control of the largest military in the world.

Maybe the Iraq war was caused by Florida. There was a little box to attack Afghanistan and a little box to attack Iraq. They couldn't figure the shit out, so they attack both. It took 10 years of recounts before figuring out that Iraq was not responsible for 9/11, and troops should probably be removed from that country.

These are the same people? Proof? Last i checked, Obama won florida, thanks to those people waiting for hours in line (some 8+ hours)

Sounds like you're itching to use the N word.

From the time I walked in the front door to the time I walked out was less than 5 minutes. At least 1-2 minutes of that time was one volunteer explaining to another volunteer (who appeared to be about 80 years old) how to find where I had to sign.

It's not an America problem - it's a "backwards states/states run by one party trying to repress the other party" problem.

Same here, i didn't wait in line at all. Of course my state wasn't a battle ground state like florida or penn where Republicans were trying to disenfranchise as much of the black vote as possible.

Nice lies, there was no disenfranchisement of the black vote

Sounds like it? What voices in your head are making it sound like that? What an absurd thing to even bring up.

Because you're being fucking absurd. How do you know that these people also line up at walmart for black friday?

And even if they were, it's far more inconvenient/uncomfortable to line up for hours to vote because a) it's a workday and b) at least for those people who line up for black friday, they can sit, they can even bring chairs and to the extreme end they can bring tents. In a line to vote, you are constantly moving. It's bullshit.

You're just making bullshit assumptions about people, so i think i'm going to make a fairly accurate assumption about you.

It took me less than 15 mins in a small city outside of Boston, MA. Really wasn't that long, small delay at the check in the volunteer had trouble finding my house. I spent about 5 minutes reading to the ballot initiatives.
