I hate all prescription drug marketing.
By law if they tell you the benefits of a drug, they must then list all the side effects and their severity. That turns a 15 second commerical into a 30 second commercial that costs a lot more to air and can scare some of your customers away. So they attempt to build in marketing tricks so they don't have to tell you what the pill does. Lets take that Nexium ad for example. They advertized for years what Prilosec does - almost everyone knows what it is for - and in those ads they always called it the purple pill. Now all they have to do is call Nexium the purple pill and the vast majority of us all know what it does (it is virtually identical to Prilosec, but Prilosec's patent ran out so they made a very minor change and snuck it through the patent office and renamed it Nexium) - and they get around the law of having to state all the side effects.Yup, and how come they never tell you what the drug does? All they say is "Ask your doctor if Nexium is right for you" or whatever.
