VOTE!!! NFL 2K3 vs Madden 2003 For Console Systems

I own a ps2 and was wondering which would be better? I'm most interested in game play and online play...but what would you guys get and why?

i have nfl 2k3 for xbox and it is pretty damn good. 2k3 has some solid gameplay and complete espn license so you have plays of the week, sportscenter updates, etc. It features online play as well (as does Madden)

Madden 2003 is damn nice..

I'll rent 2k3 next week sometime. Should have seen me at the store.. "2k3 or Madden.. 2k3 or Madden.."

I chose Madden as it has slightly more realism.

Only thing that bugs me right now is that there are a few slowdowns for the PS2..

agh i get paid on friday and i'm gonna buy a console and this is further complicating things. I thought I was set with PS2 because I want to play GT3, Final Fantasy and sports games, but with XBox having Halo, more power, and the sports games, and Gamecube being cheaper and having smash bro's along with the sports games... arggggg...... why so many games!@#

Didn't NFL2K2 and all the other versions have the the play selector visible so when you are playing split screen the opponent and see your play selection?

I prefer the 2kx games over Madden.

I haven't played any online console games yet.

I don't think anyone knows how they play online yet because the adapter hasn't been released yet. In a couple of weeks we should have a better idea. I know I am waiting to see which has the best online play before I buy.

Tried out the EB in-store demo, the graphics aren't that impressive. Gameplay's slow and dull... Mario Sunshine is a glorified Mario64 with mud. Yeahhh.....woot

On a side note, it's funny how many moronic people come into Gamestop when NFL 2k3 comes out and ask "Hey you gots 2k3 in yet?". Knife, stab, now...

Everything I've seen says NFL 2K3 is better than Madden 2003. If my bro in law doesn't buy it for his PS2 I'm going to buy it for my Xbox.

You can push the button, hold it down...

Then move around to a different play to fake them out

Once you get used to calling plays this way, it's not a big deal. I like to calling the plays with 2K3 so I can see exactly what ground my receivers are going to cover.

Anyone know why Madden on XBOX doesn't have online play? I think EA dropped the ball there.

I play the NFL 2K series on my Dreamcast and I think it beats the Madden series hands down. The trash talking at the line, being able to go over the top at the goal line, the animations all are superior to Madden.
I've played the Madden series of games for the PC since the 2000 version. I enjoyed being able to edit my player?s stats and create new players for the draft but that?s the only thing I liked about it. I hate the way you can throw a bomb and nine times out of ten it will be caught by the player?s head for a touch down. That doesn't happen with NFL 2K.

I have a Game cube and I plan on buying both the College version and NFL version of 2K3.

seems like nfl 2k3 is getting the voting edge...but i feel like madden would be more realistic because if NFL 2K3 is anything like the dreamcast version, then that doesn't sound too good...

anyone know if it's totally different now graphics-wise and control-wise compared to the dreamcast and ps2(nfl 2k2) version?

NCAA 2003 for xbox (prolly ps2 as well) blows both of these games away..

Another vote for NCAA. Last year in my fraternity, we got 10 guys together and all picked a team from the big ten and played a franchise. A lot of fun playing each other and recruiting players in the offseason. Kinda sucks there is no online play though. I'll probably pick up NCAA 2003 for sure, and then prolly NFL 2k3, so I get an EA and a Sega version.
