The reason I ask is my MX500 is good but the MX1000, G5 and G7 are on sale with decent rebates and I am thinking about getting one but I am not sure which one.

The only bad thing I can say about the MX500 is it feels just a little small. Otherwise Im not sure if I would like it to weigh more or not. Its certainly not bad but if you have upgraded from the 500 please vote for what you went to and why if you really like it.

UPDATE:
I have the MX500 I just re-worded it what is the best upgrade?

I also have the microsoft wireless Intellimouse explorer 2 but dont feel it responds fast enough in games for me but I think I like the extra weight over the MX500.

I still prefer the original MS Intellimouse, with a wheel and a ball. The shape is very easy to grab onto and manipulate with my fingers (which makes for very fine control), and I've found ball-based mouses to be easier to quickly relocate on the mousing surface than optical mouses.
Their software sucks (including mouse drivers), but I can't complain about the hardware that Microsoft licenses.

LOL... so you give options for 3 different logitech models, and then the rest? And where's the Mx518? Mx510? Mx500? Mx300? Mx700? Razer Copperhead? Razer Diamondback?

Hehe, I have a MX510, although personally I like the Intellimouse Optical... the 5 button ambidextrous one.

Thanks...the MX518 is awesome with the sensitivity buttons, and it's relatively low-priced.
