switching between the two requires a restart and bios fiddling, i think. they both want to be primary display adapter

Just got off the phone:

$146.54 shipped, arriving on Dec 7th. My CSR was named Danielle and she was awesome. Very chatty, made sure I got the right prices, didn't give me any hassle about shipping next-day. She was extremely pleasant, talking about being from Canada and loving McDonald's Orange drink, which she had had for lunch. Can't wait to try out the card!

Aren't any of you worried about the fact that 3dfx doesn't plan to make cards anymore? Or have they said they will continue to update the drivers?

Dude...they arent going out of business they are just going to liscense out the technology that they develop, just like the pre-voodoo3 days. Back then they still made drivers...and they are still making them now. A new beta driver came out a week ago.

hmm, funny how all the reviews say otherwise (and that's with a beta board), maybe with FSAA on it does @ the same resolution but then again the picture looks better with FSAA, or at least it's suppose to.

i've only owned nvidia products (tnt, tnt2 ultra), so i'm not biased either :)

I think we can all agree their is nothing cheaper that's better than than the v5500.

Who's your daddy Mr. Geforce2 GTS?

after reading this review I'm a Voodoo5 5500 believer

Voodoo5 5500 vs Geforce2 GTS at FSAA - framerate compare

<a target=new href="http://

alright, now who was that liar saying the Geforce1 DDR beats the Voodoo5 5500? Does it beat the Geforce2 GTS too??

of course in order for you to believe you must trust that review.

oops that review was written back in may, new drivers might have changed everything but I'll assume not, or at least not so much that the Geforce2 is beating the 5500 and I'm still leaning in the 5500 direction.

Just checked the Onvia site and the Voodoo5 is now listed as not in stock. I am assuming Staples checks the status at Onvia, so how can I get this sweet deal?

Just call the staples 1-800 number and tell them you want a price match with onvia. Give them the item number from onvia and they will look up/confirm the onvia price and make sure it's in stock there. Then after they match the price give them the coupon code.

When I started this thread onvia wasn't the cheapest site unless you took its free shipping into consideration. Looking at pricewatch today the cheapest price is Tuffshop at $169 with $10.95 shipping. With the $40 coupon the price would be $140 after shipping. I'm sure they would have it in stock.
