VooDoo3 or Prophet II?

Can get the Voodoo 3000 AGP for $80 or the new Prophet II for $150.

Which should I buy? Why?

I think the Prophet II is a GTS....you may mean a Prophet II mx, based on that price...either way, it will be better than a V3.

The nvidia would be a much better buy than the voodoo 3 which has no 32 bit color, no anti-aliasing, and is much slower. You can get a can get one of the mx cards for about $129 over at at www.mwave.com.

I agree. The GF2MX is faster in most games and has 32-bit color.

Before anyone can anwser that question,we need more info, what games do you play and what are you`re system specs?

Unless you never ever play a game, geforce is the way to go. Also if you play more at hi res you can get a Radeon DDR around the same price.

GF2 MX by far. More features, better performance, better image quality.

If you're not into 3D games and want to save the money, get the V3. The two cards should have essentially the same 2D performance. Some people claim that the nVidia chips don't deliver on the 2D image quality, but both cards have a 350 MHz RAMDAC that should deliver the same refresh rates for whatever resolution you're running.

If you're partially into 3D games and want to save the money, get the V3. The 3D performance is not as good as the GFMX2, but the V3 is not a slouch by any means...until T&L comes into play.

If the games you're into run better with Glide (e.g. Unreal Tournament), get the V3.

Otherwise, I think the GFMX2 would be the way to go.
