Voodoo3-3k problems...

i recently installed that last set of official drivers (v 1.0.3.00) for my voodoo3 3000 PCI board on my win2k SP1 machine [celery 466, abit bm6 (TZ) mobo, 384M]. everything seemed to install fine, DX8 and B&W ran way better than the before when just using the MS-supplied voodoo3 drivers.

however, once i rebooted the machine, my display is all f*cked to hell. in the last moment before the win2k 640x480 boot-up screen goes away, the right side of the graphic looks like a punchcard. when the login desktop comes up, the cursor has a strange large square around it with lots of lines, and the desktop has these undulating punchcard effects too. plus, the login window never comes up -- all that shows up is the background, and everything will freeze if you click around on the empty desktop.

has anyone had a problem like this before using the latest set of drivers from the 3dfx site? are the drivers all fritzed for some reason? could the card actually be going?

i may have the card overclocked (don't remember if i installed that utility after installing the new drivers). could that play a part? if so, is there a registry setting i can dink with in safe mode that will remove the overclocking freq?

thanks in advance for any/all help!

I have the same card, and had the same problem after installing B&W - Reinstall the Video Drivers (When it extracts, go to that folder and run setup.exe), and then reboot, and reinstall DX8a.

I also uninstalled B&W while doing this, and haven't bothered to put it back in since. :)
