I went from a V3 2k to a Geforce mx and can say it is a MUCH better card. No comparison, the mx wipes the V3 2k.

I made the V3 to MX change. Was blown away with the improvement in image quality.

Why buy the MX when the Radeon LE which is much better and cheaper and can o/c as a full featured DDR Radeon. I have an Asus 7100 GF2MX, A Hercules GF2MX and the Radeon LE and still prefer the Radeon. All my 3dMark scores are higher than the MX scores.

The MX will be much faster and have better 3D than the V3. The V3's only high point in this comparison is that it would have better 2D quality.

Ugh, 3Dmark. NOT useful for comparing different setups.

Don't you just hate it when people try to change the subject of the post?

The original question is which to pick from: the Voodoo3 2k or the GeForce2 MX. I just find it really quite pathetic by the amount of things about Radeons that appears on here. Sure, it's a great line of cards, but come on. Nothing to get so uppity about. You might think that I am an Nvidia fan, and I am, but I wouldn't mind trying other products from ATI or 3dfx if I was given the chance. So don't go flaming me :)

This thread is a little redundant, but since I am running two different Geforce 2 MX's in two of my systems and a Voodoo 3 3000 PCI in another one, just let me say that while the Voodoo 3 once proudly wore the budget video performance crown, the king is dead. Long live the new king of the budget performance cards the Geforce 2 MX!! Either the DDR Creative Annihilator 2 MX or my A-Open Geforce 2 MX PA 256 will put the spank on my trusty but aged Voodoo 3. However the Voodoo 3 still does yeoman duty in my celeron 366 system, since it is an "AGP challenged" Intel 810 chipset motherboard. (No AGP slot) Otherwise, we would probably have 3 Geforce 2 MX cards :D Anyway you cut it, if you have an AGP slot, and not a lot of money, you should have a geforce 2 MX stuck in there. To be fair, I have no experience with the ATI Radeon cards, but still hear persistent rumors about driver issues with ATI cards in general. My MX cards have been trouble free.

Maybe. From what I've seen though, my MX is slightly better at 1024 x 768.
