Voodoo3 1000 can't run OpenGL or Glide using Win2k...help?!? (it's fixed - don't know how...but it's fixed)

I did a clean install of Win2k recently and since then haven't been able to get any games to take advantage of the 3D graphics. My system is a Compaq model 5838 with the 16MB Voodoo3 1000 (came with it), 500 Mhz Athlon, and 256M Ram.

Anyone of you seen any solutions for getting my 'puter to even see OpenGL or Glide?

As a side note, when running Win'98 before this - the gaming graphics on this card rocked (as far as 3DFX goes) so it's definitely a driver issue.

The drivers that come with win2k don't support these features. You will need to download the latest drivers for your card elsewhere. You might need to try a few before finding one that works well....at least that has been my experience.

I already went through and downloaded every single voodoo3 driver I could find...both off Compaq's site and user-created betas (including WickedGL which didn't seem to do a thing).

The card itself works great, but like I mentioned at the beginning - it just won't take advantage of the 3D side (OpenGL or Glide).

that's odd. Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Did you try downloading the 3dfx-made drivers?

The latest 3dfx drivers should work. I was playing CS on a V3 2k in 2000 back when.

Where all have you looked? Tried reactorcritical? I'm not completely sure where to find 3dfx drivers now.
