Voodoo 5 Questions

I heard about "correctly installing" the Voodoo 5 and performance increases of up to 3x. I had a Voodoo 5 5500 PCI card installed at a store so I assumed it was done right. Also, I think the drivers are up to date. Anyway, here is what I need to know. I heard that if under the system thing in control panel (right click on my computer and go to properties) in the device manager, if it says the device is a "3DFX Voodoo series" then it is not installed properly. I guess it should say that it is a Voodoo 5. Anyway, how can I make sure that it is installed correctly and how can I update my drivers when the time comes? Thanks a lot

personally i dont own V5 so im not sure if my suggestion will help. but here it goes.

The correct way would be getting the most performance out of it, right? And usually the benchmarks on websites are done with fresh installed drivers and nothing else installed to lower the benchmark scores, so they would have optimum performance. So, check those benchmarks and run them yourself, if you are reasonably close to what it should be, then i think all is good.

Don't worry about the Series entry. It means nothing. By editing the registry you can make it read anything you want. Tweak away for incresed performance.

I've ran all sorts of benchmarks with the drivers installed both ways. There's no difference, whatsoever.
