Just got a Voodoo 5 5500 and it won't let me install win 98se.

What happens is after the first reboot it hang at a black screen. After trying to install about six times with the same results, I put in my old V3-3000 and install then continued normally. And, yes, I did have the power plugged into the V5. I haven't put the V5 back in cause I suspect something might be wrong with it. Anybody ever see this ?

Before you installed the V5 did you set the display adapter to "Standard PCI Graphics Adapter" ?

Itstall everything with the V3 and then update all of your drivers espetialy your AGP drivers and DirectX and anything you can so it would support the V5. When you are done, backup hte registry nad install your V5. I think it should work then without problems, if not, it may be as you said, a bad card.
