Voodoo 5 5500 for possibly $190 retail

Maybe it's over, but I got this card for like $150 delivered from Staples with PM + coupons. Suggest you check previous threads about this card.
 
There are many deals on this card for under $180 shipped that don't require a MIR to drop the price. Check resellerratings and pricewatch.

I personally would leave this card alone and get either a Radeon 32MB DDR or a Geforce2 GTS for about the same or less money.

This was over a month ago and that V5500 rebate ran for only a week or so until Oct. 31 - just before 3dfx dropped the price $100. That BestBuy coupon also expired on Nov. 5.

Choosing between V5500 vs. Radeon vs. Geforce 2 GTS depends heavily on what you play/use it for. The choice isn't necessarily that clear cut.
 
received my voodoo 5 two days ago...from staples..149 after price match and coupon..190 is not a deal at all🙁
 
Why was it 190$.... does Staples pricematch include the shipping on top of the listed price on the competitors site?
 
Do not buy this card. It has the worst performance of any card I have tested. If you are going to spend $190 it is worth spending a little more and getting a GeForce. I actually bought this card and I am going to return it.

I had a 3D mark Score of 1490 with my TNT2 Ultra; 1510 with the Voodoo5 5500; and 3537 with a Geforce2 GTS.

It is not worth buying. It would be a good deal if they lowered the price to $99. 3Dfx is a hyped up company that makes crappy cards.

For real performance stick with Nvidia.

Hey valno, are you smoking crack? Turn off the FSAA and your 3DMark scores should at least double. I'm getting over 3850 on my V5 (P3 667). You're the only person EVER on this board that says the performance sucks on the V5. Quit spreading misinformation!
 
no doubt V5 5500 is a great card. With the Staples price match it works out pretty well. Onvia has them for $177.60 with free shipping and no sales tax. If you don't want to deal with price matching.
 
Minimunch I have the voodoo 5500 and I can tell you it is an excellent card. I wouldn't trade it for the choices you mentioned.
