thisSkool: Is that price $113.00 shipped? I don't think so. Most pricewatch sites charge high shipping costs. :(

How does the V5 5500 compare to the Radeon LE that Newegg is selling? Does anybody know of any benchmarks comparing these cards?

Any difference between the two are negligilble after you consider the status of driver support. ATI has a horrible track record for driver support, but nonetheless it is certainly better than the complete lack of any support whatsoever now that 3Dfx fell off the earth and into the fiery depths of hell. besides you also save some greenback- to the tune of about $60 if I'm not mistaken.

From compgeek's description of the V5 5500:

"The Voodoo5 line is powered by the VSA-100 graphics processors and is 3dfx's latest weapon in the 3D battle. "

Latest...and last. I just thought it was a humorous phrase

:D

It's $109 now on pricewatch. I had a V5 for a while before I returned it due to lack of support. It's a bit tempting to snatch one, though I know it'll be short-lived if I get it.

I almost bought the Voodoo 5 from a site off of Pricewatch.com. The store owner informed me that he was selling the OEM version which has a lower memory ( 143 mghtz ) speed.

Thus I past on it.

I think he's gassin' you because all V5s can do 166MHz. The V5 still kicks @$$. Geforce2 and 64MB Radeons kick @$$ too.

I've got an OEM and it clocks at the same as retail default....and I wouldn't take $150 for mine and I don't have the cash or I'd buy this one.
Bump!
