Voodoo 4 question

According to an Anandtech article, the Voodoo 4 does not use AGP texturing. So, do I have to use the VIA AGP drivers if using a V4 on a 133A-based motherboard?

Put down the V4....Back away from the V4.....

1. V4 does not support AGP texturing, you are correct
2. More importantly, bankrupt 3dfx will not support drivers soon

However, it's for a friend who isn't that into gaming, but moreso than his original Matrox G100 and Voodoo2 would permit. I got it for him for $75 from a friend, so I couldn't see too much of a downside that would matter to him.
