Hey guys, my friends TNT2 M64 is like dead. So he doesn't want to spend too much on a new video card I told him to get a voodoo 5 or a geforce 2 gts but he said it was too expensive so I said either get a voodoo4 or a geforce2 MX.

so which one is better guys? he will be mostly playing UT. So he wants very high FPS at least 70 or higher.

The 2 cards are around the same price right?

I saw the voodoo 4 which was retailed at $150. Is the geforce 2 MX more expensive? how much is it?

I tell ya, I've been checking out a Vidcard upgrade for my box for quite a while. I'm a bit PO'd at nVidia's recent attitude problems. According to insanehardware.com, GF2's won't work on my mainboard. "Excellent," said I, "this new V4 4500 really looks like the best choice." Weyell, the V5 5500's specs really look crappy, as far as framerate goes. So the V4 4500, which is essentially half of a V5 5500 became a not so good choice. Sigh. This leaves the GF2 MX. I think the MX is the better choice. I suggest getting a name brand one. The "Podunk Special Best Product" may be cheaper than an Asus, CL or Guillemot. Don't go podunk.

I would suggest you pass on both cards, and get a Radeon 32mb DDR. They can be purchased from Best Buy for only $150 after a $50 rebate, and they are faster in 32 bit color than the Geforce2 MX. Not only that, they have excellent 2D quality as well as DVD support.
