Voodoo 4 and Pod Racer

I've noticed lately that whenver I play Pod Racer on my machine that it has a tendency to randomly skip in-game, and often too. I played with driver settings all day, and nothing works. I guess it could be the X3dfx community drivers doing it, (as I hadn't noticed it before I got them), but they seem to make everything else run a good deal faster. I'd hate to have to go back to my older drivers since these actually help Serious Sam not have funky looking things go on, and play almost decently. Any ideas? Patches or anything?

Not a single one. I'ts totally regaurdless of resloution too. 640x480 is just as bad as 1024x768.

Not to familar witht the game Pod Racer, but it could be either the game OR the video card. I don't think there are updated drivers for the video card. As for the game, I would check the companies web site.

Have you patched the game to the latest versions and tried the game readmes/FAQs? Also try some of the leaked unnofficial 3dfx drivers from the web.

1. There are no patches for the PC version, only Mac.
2. I'm using the x3dfx drivers...and I already said that.
3. The game used to run fine, it only started doing this lately.

I guess it is the x3dfx drivers screwing with it. I've tried every setting in the game that could make a difference and a few that wouldn't, and it doesn't help. I guess I'll put up with it until I get a new video card since I'm not about to use the old "official" drivers from 3dfx. They make Serious Sam run rather poorly, and UT isn't as fast with them either.

I've run Episode one Racer on a Voodoo3 (3dfx drivers 1.07) as well as GeForce3, but I've never seen this problem. I installed no patches for the game, I never bothered to check if there were any available. The game was kinda boring so I never really messed with it that much.
