VooDoo 3500TV; VCR won't time record

I can capture video manually but I can't get it to record when I set the start and stop time. Been trying to figure this out for two evenings now. I know its an old card but shouldn't this function still work?

Finally figured it out; I never hooked up the audio cable from the CD to the video card and once it was connected it worked
