Voodoo 3000 Performance with new drivers

A few days ago I installed the new drivers for my Voodoo 3 3000, I really like the way it performs now, not to mention the added tools from 3dfx, i think it just bought itself a little more time until i upgrade it.

I'd like to hear how everyone else is doign with the new drivers? any complaints? benchmarks?

I've got 2 cards running different drivers for the V3. One of them is running the V5 5500 drivers, the other is running the 'old' beta drivers. Do you have any comparison benchmarks or anything? Also, do you use the wicked gl drivers too? I've been hesitant to try them since I usually play at lower res, but I've got lockup issues whenever I try to exit a game of HL if I'm using opengl api.

I didnt do any benchmarks on the old drivers, so i wont be able to compare it to the new, but after i rebooted, i had a lot more resolution options, like it added 2 resolutions between 1024x764 and 1280x1024, which was good for me because 1280x1024 was getting too hard on my eyes, and 1024x764 was a little less room than i wanted, therefore the new settings are really great.

they're fine, not noticable slower nor faster, and the LOD setting is nice. So far i'm running at -4, it looks a little weird, but I'm dead sure I just have to get used to it

Hmmm, it sounds like they just labeled the v5 5500 drivers that I'm using for the V3 and re-released it. The lod setting is in those as well. I may go ahead and get em for archival purposes. Is anyone using the WickedGl drivers in conjunction w/ any of these newer driver releases from 3dfx?
