Voodoo 3 VS. VISIONTEK Xtasy 5632 GEFORCE2 GTS-V: Monitor Question/Problem?

I recently upgraded from a Voodoo 3 to a VISIONTEK Xtasy 5632 GEFORCE2 GTS-V.

Anyway I have my power management options in Windows set to turn the Monitor off after 20 mins of non use.
The Voodoo card would have the light on the monitor burn "amber" when this happened.
After upgrading to the Geforce 2 my monitor will flash from green to amber when the monitor goes off.

I read the book that came with the monitor and it said that solid amber was deep sleep and that the flashing green/amber was suspend.

I guess my main question is, is this normal? And if not how could I fix it? Or should I even worry about this?

It's not the card, it the drivers. nVidia has had on and off problems with the display whenever the monitor or system goes into suspend mode ever since the v6.x series of drivers. Doesn't show up in ever system, but it does show up enough that most people don't bother with it anymore. Just leave the monitor on at all times in the power settings and either manually shut off the monitor when not in use or use a screensaver. I personally use the default "blank" one that comes with Windows. It seems to use the fewest resources.

thanks glad to hear its just the drivers.

Im using the latest ones from the nvidia site. maybe they will fix it eventually, who knows 🙂
